Default The Superferry Thread

Go to http://www.KHNL.com and click on the link that says "Extended Raw Video: Superferry Protest on Kauai" on their homepage.

- pay close attention to the woman pounding on the passenger side glass
- watch the dude yell off the top of his voice while he pounds on the hood of the same car
- watch the guy let the air out of the vehicle

*Note: That SUV had children inside.

Look around for any of the anti-SF videos on google or youtube, you'll easily see that they conveniently left out those 3 key parts of the raw video.

then check this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9e0clKc5Y4

The guy from the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi says and I quote:

"... the law is superseded by their laws then we have to supersede them with customary law"
"... we don't want violence here, we want peace... and that's what we about peace and love"
"... we don't want these people hurting their own people, cuz right now these police officers are here and they're turning it violent, you know so we don't want them to hurt our people, cuz we don't deserve it..."
"... we controlling the law, cuz the law is out of hand"

I'm glad none of you guys were on the ferry with your S2K. The guy from the Polynesian Kingdom of Atooi said that "they'll be serving one injunction", if they touched my car I'd be serving one false crack. Bruce Lee once said "don't touch me... or I'll touch you back."

<------ is in the Coast Guard.

This whole situation is getting fun.

In my opinion, people are scared of change. You're not getting haoli traffic on the superferry. You're getting locals that now have a convienient way to go visit family or take vacations to other islands.

People just aren't thinking this through. The superferry has no external moving props so it's almost impossible for it to have any impact on wildlife. It's not going to attract tourism from the mainland. It's not really any cheaper than flying unless you're going to stay for a long time, which again means that it's mostly people who have family on neighbor islands or large groups like schools and churches. It only moves between islands, so it's not going to introduce invasive species. etc etc.

It's a joke, nobody's taking anybody's island away from them. The Superferry is here. It's not going away.

If I hear anything interesting at work, I'll let you guys know. I might not be allowed to say everything I hear, but I'll keep you as posted as I can.
