Default DC_AP1 JUST COOPERATE! SORRY AJR

ok Bought spoon brakes in Feb. Were supposebly delivered March 8th(left at doorstep yeah I know kinda shady way to deliver an 1800.00 package) Guess what my brother gets home and no package. So I contact DC_AP1 to get a trace started on the package no help, pm again no help so I finally talk to a manager at UPS and they finally start the trace however informing me that the claim papers if they find that they are truly at fault will be sent to the sender. No biggie I figure, A&J is pretty respectable they'll file the papers and we'll be on our way. Then this happens. First DC_AP1 makes no attempt to start the trace then once the trace is done and the investigation is over and UPS is claiming that the package is lost and they are willing to pay the value of the package. I find out my 1800.00 brakes are only insured for 700.00. AWESOME more good news. Well now I'm being told pretty much to suck it up by DC_AP1 because he's not even gonna try to talk to UPS about it. hmmmm
oh yeah here's the tracking number to the package 1Z F96 173 68 4090 9582
What do you guys think I should do? Contact a lawyer? Contact UPS again(For the 15th time?) THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 3 MONTHS. I hate throwing A&J into this but he is one of they're employees and nobody seems to be taking action on the shipper or seller's behalves. Have all the pm files if anyone wishes to host them.

tracking info

1. It's YOUR responsibility to tell me if you want ADDITIONAL HANDLING which requires a signature, and additional fees.
2. It was ALSO YOU that said you didn't want to pay taxes and duties from custom that's why I lowered the price on the invoice, hence the insurance is only $700.
3. It's STILL again YOUR responsibility to tell me if you want YOUR product insured or not.
4. Again it's not MY FAULT that UPS didn't call me and when I called them, they kept telling me to tell you to call them.

Just like the Leo_gets incident, this situation would of been solved with the seller buying insurance. I am not saying anybody is at fault here but a few bucks out of the pocket of the seller for insurance could of covered him and the buyer. I dont see why insurance is such a big deal when it is so cheap to purchase.

1800 dollar brakes and you cant throw a few bucks down to insure them.

You should have verified delivery (i.e. signature)

Not very cool to be bashing on the guy whos out 1800 dollars especially when you work for a well known company on the board.

Since when does UPS leave a package valued at "$700" on a doorstep?

I've had over 10 packages delievered to my house by UPS under 3 senarios

1) I was home, signed for it, took the package
2) I was NOT home, they leave a notice on the door to pick up the package at their outlet, or they will try again tomorrow
3) I leave a signed note on the door, saying it is ok to leave the back on my back porch, and I take full responsibility.

So how can they leave a package in the open like that? Don't they need some sort of signature?

Not that I'm defending either side of this story, but do not blame A&J for valuing the item at $700 - apparently YOU asked for that so you can save a few bucks at customs - that's the risk you take and is not A&J's fault.

UPS will leave anything by the door - unless instructed not to. Fed Ex will not leave anything valued over $100 by the door without a waiver signed by the person doing the shipping. I've had numerous big ticket items left by my door in the past from UPS, and I've had to track down numerous items not left by my door at a Fed Ex drop off. It is more convenient for me to use UPS while I take the risk of having to make an insurance claim.

Yes, insurance is relatively inexpensive when you're talking about a $1,800 item. Yes, customs will take their toll on a $1,800 item so I can understand why the request for lower insurance was made.

Is midnightsuns telling the full story? Is DC_AP1's post filling in some forgotten information?

9kFever - DC_AP1 has every right to come out and protect his reputation, as would you if someone publicly called you out. If midnightsuns requested a lower insurance rate to save some money, then that information should be told. AJ Racing has been a reputable S2000 tuning shop to this point. They need to step in here to assure the S2000 Community that they did what was requested of them, and are doing everything in their power to help right this situation. Maybe the verbiage used wasn't as eloquent as some would hope for, but when you're being bad mouthed straight to the point verbiage may be necessary. It could be that there is nothing more they can do, and everything lays on UPS right now.

OK DC_AP1, Please post the pm or message that states that I wanted lower insurance. I had just come back from Iraq with huge pockets and would have had no complaint with paying a couple bucks to insure this package. Since when do you not insure such a valuable package? Maybe it's my fault for assuming such a big name business would automatically insure that they got the package to their customers. ie confirmation signature.

Also DC_AP1 what is with the threats to local police depts all about? Also for those viewing be aware that I am the only one who has been working with UPS on this issue, whom told me that only the seller can file claims, and that they can not disclose any information to myself (the buyer). UPS has also said that the seller has not even made an effort to get with them. Also knoiw that while I am heated you have to realize that is problem has been ongoing for over 3 months. (wouldnt you be a bit ticked? )

I am not out to get/flame A&J but their name was on the shipping invoice so I must include them even though they probably had no idea of this problem, due to DC_AP1 blantantly ignoring my pms. thanks

Aj racing, im sure did as they were instructed to do so. ive spent thousands of dollars with them and they have always been on top of thier game. i will contact Ben at Aj to verify the situation, but please dont jump to any conclusions or attacks if there is still some stuff that needs to be cleared up as Poindexter has stated.
