I have been searching through the previous posts for a good oil for my tranny, but it seems like there isn't any Right choice for our transmission. Have any of you made any recent discoveries?

I have 7500 miles on mine, and I grind into 2nd gear a couple times a day. Adjusting my clutch pedal seemed to fix it for a while, but it's back. The dealer told me that there isn't anything that they can do for me, since it is "already corrected for '02". I'm hoping that there is a magic oil that will do the trick.

The Honda MTF works very well. The RL MTF is too light. RL MT-90 is ok. The specs on GM looks like it may be to heavy but I have been tempted to check it out since many other makes swear by it.

There is no fix for the 1-2 grind other than moving to a cooler clime.

I haven't noticed any pattern (RPM's, Ambient Temp, Cold / Hot Tranny, etc.) for the 1-2 grind. It just does it when it feels like it. If it doesn't grind, it's silky smooth, and all the other gears are smooth all the time.

Just curious, has anybody given Motul 600 Gear Oil a try? I've used it in other cars, it has worked great. Hard to get though. I'm about to try unless someone convinces me it's a real bad idea..

I've read that lots of people run Redline MT-90 in their trannys. Anyone ever try running Redline Shockproof?

go with honda MTF. I flushed mine with only 3000kms and it is smoother.

After reading all kinds of opinions and experiences of many members here, I finally decided just to replace with Honda MTF @20,000 km. My gear box has performed flawlessly till that point and it continues to perform in the same way now. I'm glad I didn't mess with a good thing.
BTW, when the old juice came out, it did not look like it was in need of a change. It was clean looking and free of visible particles.

I'm another believer in the Honda MTF. I changed mine at about 4000 miles and couldn't beleive the difference. It made a world class transmission even smoother. I have been fortunate as I haven't had the 1-2 grind, though. Having experimented with several synthetics (but not Redline) in other cars and trucks equipped with manual transmissions, I have always gone back to dino juice. I didn't want to take any chances on my S.
