Default How should i park my car in the rain?

I remember reading awhile ago that if you let your car sit out in the rain, the cone can soak up a lot of water. Well where i somewhat work at, the parking is sorta slanted a little.

So my question is, should i park with my front aiming up a little, or park so that the rear end aims up a little? Or just park on flat ground... which way will help eliminate water dripping on top of my filter?

I know this sounds stupid, but i just wanna be cautious.

Do you have a bypass valve on your AEM? That may help.

I would say to park with the nose of your car facing down the hill or slope so that water won't be able to drain and stay in the intake pipe.

You should park it nose DOWN. The pipe that the filter clamps onto points slightly up. This is how water collects there. It's not the filter soaking up water that's bad. It's after the filter gets completely saturated that the water then just goes through it and into the first part of that pipe. You can minimize a great deal of the falling water if you plug the hole in the ledge just under the hood:

For added safety, you can improvise an "umbrella" to shield the filter from falling water. Then you can park the thing in any direction without fear. Or you could buy one:

I made a shield from a milk jug and duct tape (as suggested by Xviper). Works like a charm.

I put a piece of electrical tape over the hole and have never had a problem. And that includes when those 4 hurricanes came through. Twice, my car was parked when we had ten + inches of rain in 24 hours.

thanks for all your help guys!!! last night i took my 5lbs creatine bottle and said, "sorry the car needs this more." lol. I dumped it all out and did what you guys suggested. But i put some double sided tape on the cone so the thing would stick on.. hehe.

i noticed my filter was soaken wet, and yes i plugged the hole. and when i stock my finger inside, i felt some water in there........ hehe.

thanks again guys.
