S2000 weight savings.
Here's an interesting one. I keep hearing about people trying to pare a couple of kilos or so from their cars by spending a grand or so on a lighter exhaust.
Well here's an immediate saving of around 7 kilos (15 pounds).
I had cause to refill my washer unit. It was totally empty and I ended up putting 7 litres of fluid in there to fill it.
So here you go guys, run around with zero or minimal fluid in that washer bottle.

You could unbolt and remove the roll hoops and probaby save 30 lbs. ? Many convertibles don't have them (Corvette comes to mind). I wonder if they provide any structural stiffening to the chassis or what?

Yeah guys but all these other weight savings take time and effort and detract from the vehicle - I'm talking about a real easy saving here folks with no negative effects - just leave a pint or so in there for occasional washes.
By comparison, even removing the spare is a lot more hassle and a real pain if you get a flat.

I agree. I mean, we could all strip down our cars like the Spoon S2000, but it would be sacrificing something. If you're going to spend some money to save weight, obviously a single Ti exhaust and some new rims would be a good start.

I took out my spare and tool kit because with 17 & 18-inch staggered tires front and back, they were worthless. Saved 30-lbs. The Tanabe saved me 13-lbs over the OEM, the PRM intake saved me about 7-lbs over the stock box, I rarely ('cept winter) have more than 1/2-tank in the car (gas weighs 6.2-lbs per gallon). I've lost 10-lbs myself (less cheeseburgers) and I rarely have anything in the trunk.
I figure a nice set of Centerline RPM wheels (11.9-lbs in 17-inch gunmetal) would be a nice addition next spring. This is no MR2 Spyder though...I had that little thang down to 2056-lbs. What a hoot. A two-hander on the wheel exercise though during interstate crosswinds.
