Here's another post revived by popular request to replace the photos lost by those SOBs at Photopoint when they went belly up. Hopefully, Reedz can revive his photos and intallation instructions.

Thanks to ReedZ, who did this job when I visited on the way to Lime Rock, I now have what I think is the ideal Valentine One Mount. Here's the mount and location of the detector:

Here's the location of the remote, under the dash, to the right of the steering wheel:

First: Where can I get one?

Second: When I put my secondary display on, the led on the main unit doesn't work anyway...why tape?

ReedZ did it with stock Radio Shack parts, mounted under the left windscreen attachment.

The tape is for extra protection from the prying eyes of the Virginia police (they confiscate detectors in that police state).

What I want is a V1 mount for the whole rearview mirror/overhead light area. either that, or a replacement passenger side visor that incorporates a V1.

We're working on the visor idea.

Rick,

Just curious...in your opinion, how is this mount an improvement over a windshield mount next to the mirror? Maybe I'm missing something, but the windshield mount will provide better range due to being higher (and having one less piece of material to potentially absorb some rays) and is stealthier, esp. since you can flip the visor down to cover most of it.

I like the remote mount, though!

Regardless of whether or not you have the remote display connected, the main unit will light for its power-on self test. I found it best to use electrical tape to hide it from my friends at the Loudoun County Sherrif's office down the street.

I like your idea. I was thinking of doing the same. It looks as though the wiring is greatly simplified. How did you wire it?

Rick,

Awesome. Of course.

I don't know what I was thinking when I visited you...
I should have stole your car at gunpoint or something.
