Someone, PLEASE! Any parts names, stock #'s, etc., would be helpful. I'd love to do this.

Thanks!

What a SUPER idea! Could we have a close-up photo of the sheet-aluminum mount (by itself), and another close-up of how it mounts below the stock windscreen, S2.001K ? Any additional details will be gratefully accepted. This is one mod we must do!

Rick, what are you using to hold your remote display up? I have mine in the same location as you but velcro always seems to fail after awhile in the heat.

I actually have the main unit on the inside of the secret compartment with the top propped up a bit to give it a better shot forward (no hope of it detecting laser though)....still seems pretty senstive - I know its a compromise but I travel in DC and VA enough that I don't want to risk having it just sitting up there in plain view for cops to see. It also makes it easy to lock-up when I want to leave the top down and a lot of times I won't even bother since its out of sight.

My on/off switch for it is mounted on the bottom of the "change holder" thing in the console so I can turn it off without having to reach behind me.

Georgen,

No problem, I'll take some more pics this weekend and post plans for the cutout. It only took about 2 hours to construct, and a wait over night for the paint to dry. I used high temp grill paint. No blistering in the hot sun!

winter,

I used Goop contact cement. I smeared a dab on the top of the remote, pushed it into place on underside of the dash for a second, let the cement cure for about three minutes, then pushed it permanently in place.

The cement is very strong but can be completely removed if I want to return to stock set-up.

I will be traveling this weekend, but I promise full details about my V1 mount on Monday or Tuesday.
In the meantime, drop by your local Radio Shack for the following parts;

Automotive-universal mounting bracket- 270-023b - $3.99

Windshield-Radar detector mount -270-034B - $7.99

You will probably have it made by the time I get back. It is pretty simple once you see the parts.

Have a good weekend,
James
