Seriously people, I saw their ad in Sport Compact Car so I decided to go take a look on their web site. Any productive thoughts?

It isn't a bad idea, but he doesn't even talk about fuel issues you will have with "boost on demand". You can't just throw 8psi into a motor with no extra fuel. Even if it's just for a short 1/4 mile burst. You will destroy your motor.

It seems like an ingenious idea. There are a few drawbacks:
  • Since this supercharger works independent of the engine rpm, pressure boost will decrease with engine rpm. Therefore, you would see minimal gains in the VTEC range, especially at redline.
  • I'm assuming that they're limiting the engine size to under 2.5 liters due to the air flow demand. The S2000 aspirates more air than many cars with much larger engines.
  • Per the company's claims, it can only boost air in 15-second bursts, then needs to be recharged. That's great if you're using it for passing or drag racing, but if you're goiing to track your car, it's just dead weight.

The electric motor draw a lot of current. Usually you need another or upgrade your alternator to drive a high flow electic motor. The cost will not be cheap when you addup all the accessory plus additional fuel. Why don't just get a complete kit either supercharger of turbo.

I have no plans on buying this, just wanted to get some thoughts on the idea/concept.

That's pretty interesting. But until an actual S2000 owner becomes a guinea pig and gives us some real world results, we really have no clue as to how good this little charger is. But I'd love to know...

So this 'electric supercharger' is garbage....the motors aren't powerfull enough. The other one has potentially 18HP available.

Hmmmm...so this is potentially interesting....except that its a roots blower....how is that going to fit under our hood. Also....this will NOT work longer than 15 seconds even if you had the power.....They are overdriving the electric motors. This allows you to squeeze out alot more power but at the cost of considerable heat. Even if you had the power for longer than 15secs you'd cook the electric motors, by running it too long.
