Here in a few words, and way too many pictures are the instruction to make the mount found in the following threads;

http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=17539
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=15172

You will need the following parts from your local Radio Shack;

Automotive-universal mounting bracket- 270-023b - $3.99
Windshield-Radar detector mount -270-034B - $7.99

You will only need a few pieces from the universal mounting bracket kit.

The Radar detector mount comes shaped like this;

It needs to be adjusted to a 90 degree angle;

The big bracket from the universal kit fits along the detector mount;

Mark the location of the 2 center slots for drilling. Use a 3/16 or 13/64 bit.

Be sure to place the screw heads in the indicated direction (this prevents the screw ends from scratching the base of your wind screen).
The slotted side of the small bracket will go between the aero screen base and the top of the secret compartment.

The finished product. Tighten screws and use Velcro to secure your chosen detector
(works great with a V1 and the concealed display).

You will need to unscrew either side of the base of the aero screen.
Place the bracket between the base and the top of the secret compartment.
Reinstall the screw from the aero screen base and tighten.

Pretty simple.

James,

Beautifully done!

Is the bracket sufficiently secure between the base of the aero screen and the top of the secret compartment, without any additional screw-nut attachment?

Thanks again for your time and efforts.

Thank you,

The older versions of the V1 weigh 8.6 oz and the newer models 6.6 oz. I have used this set-up for several months now with good results. You will notice the detector vibrating slightly, but this does not deter from its effectiveness. No additional screws are necessary, and it is quick and easy to remove too.

James,

What's the procedure to connect the wire (under the carpeting), going from the V1 on the new mount to the remote unit electrical block (mine located below the dash near the fuse block)? Did you remove the seat or snake it somehow under the center console (maybe someone has already addressed this issue)?

Again, many thanks,

George
