Default Radar install on hidden compartment

I know there are instructions out there; I have seem them with pictures. Someone installing the valentine radar detector to the hidden compartment between the seats, I just can't seem to find them. Can anyone help? Thanks. Also if you have any opinion if this is a better/worse mod then putting it on the windshield let me know. Thanks

John

I've seen the set up. a friend of mine who lives in Orlando, used the camerea mount you can buy from Rick's, and instead of a camera he mounted a radar detector. he claims it works better than mounting it on the windshield. I have my doubts. But it can be done.

I believe Rick was the one to do the install, so that should help with the search parameters. If memory serves, he actually took apart the secret compartment lid and placed the guts of the V1 inside.

Putting the V1 into the secret compartment lid is very hard work. First of all, you must take the V1 totally apart (thus voiding your warranty) and measure PERCISELY two holes for the front and rear sensors. It is a lot of work, and hard know-how work, so since you are asking us this question, you are obviously not qualified to do this. A shop would charge about 700 dollars for this install. Dont do it, you will regret it and cost yourself a ton of cash.

You might try this one, too.

A bit crazy, but not quite as crazy as Rick's setup.

I purchased a $10 visor organizer at Wal-Mart that I cut a slit in front for the radar to face out. Then I ran the wires up under the A-pilar to the radar mounted on the passanger visor inside the organizer. The V1 remote display is mounted under the climate controls.

The V1 is mounted nice and high for best range and is hidden too. Even with the organizer zipped shut the front and rear arrows work great. Some people might not like the look of the organizer but the benifit to me out weighs this.
