technically - all of the plastic and vinyl in the car are essentially transparent to radar... so, for radar the location for mounting on the secret compartment isn't all that bad... laser on the other hand will probably be a problem.

i know my 8500 has (in it's location to the left of the rearview mirror) saved me on laser more than once, giving me time to get the signal, climb on the brakes, and get legal before the cop can grab me. yes, i know it takes milliseconds after locking in to get a speed and whatever, but if he's shooting someone else nearby and/or trying to get a lock on my car (La doesn't require front plates, and our headlights aren't generous in reflective chrome), then i do have enough time to slow down... just the week before last, cruising on the way to work, i had a full laser alert and got from 90 down to 60 (speed limit) before he got a lock... i don't know if he was targeting me or the SUV next to me (at first), but i had enough time to slow down.... sure, the ABS had me rapidly chirping, but as i rolled by, all the cop could give me was a glare...

i wouldn't sacrifice that sensitivity for all the stealth in the world.

That's why I think the ideal setup would be a stealth mount detector (screw its laser capabilities) AND a laser shifter.

And remember, in some states "all the stealth in the world" is VERY important

That is crazy PJK3. MSRP on the ZR3 is $500. So even if you were desperate enough to pay MSRP, they want $300 for the install! I hope you told them they had lost their minds.
