Default Comptech Intake

What does everyone think of the comptech intake....i am thinking of buying one but want to know how the sound is, fitment, quality, etc...

Does it require any moddding to the engine bay to fit?

thanks

I have an 04 and it fits perfect. Looks nice in the engine bay and has a nice sound when you floor it.

There shouldn't be any modding required. Comptech changed the intake for 2004 in order to compensate for any required underhood changes from previous model years.

Just installed mine a few weeks ago and IMO its alright... Fitment wasnt a problem, quality is good, and sound is pretty much the same as stock to me.

- I like mine, just wish they would shave a little off the top of the box so the carbon fiber doesn't rub...

i was going to get the comptech but i decided not too. ive read that honda has placed much design into the stock intake, so im just going to get the spoon snorkel to make it better. good luck man, mods for the s2000 are very tough to decide on.

I agree. I think Honda did their homework on the intake and header design for the S2K. I haven't done a Spoon snorkel, but it seems to get many positive recommendations.

I think the exhaust is something that can be improved, and the improvement is mainly in weight savings, as any of these mods will net a very minor horsepower increase, and an increase you won't feel or notice, but you may potentially see it at the track (maybe).
