Washing Engine Bays
Im pretty sure this has been discussed before but couldnt find one during a search.
I just got my 02 s2k a few months back and it seems like the old owner never opened the hood before...its pretty damn dusty.
Anyways I was just wondering how you clean the engine bay. Can I just spray water on it or are there things i should cover up before doing so?
Any helpful tips too?
Thanx

be sure to dry it well too, and then start it up and take it for a drive.
do you need tips on cleaning, or just on rinsing?
rinsing will take care of the dust, but wont get grease or oil.
after cleaning the engine bay, be sure to protect the rubber like you do with the rest of the car (tire stuff can be used on the hoses, and plastic- 303 or vinylex are good choices).
Meguiar's also makes a degreaser. They used it with much success over on their boards to detail a civic motor. Check it out: http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showt...10&pagenumber=3
