i got out off work and started the car and the CEL came on, i always let the car warm up... so i let it warm up till 3 bars and i was driving and i put it on neutral and the engine was revving didn't pass the 2k rpm, its like im tapping on the gas pedal constantly. Anyone had this experience before?

So, are you saying you could not drive it home? If it can't go past 2000 rpm, I don't see how you could drive it anywhere.

Now that I've been set straight, I would suggest that perhaps your Idle Air Control system may be at fault or your throttle cable is either sticking or is too tight. Other possibilities would be MAP sensor (try the MAP whack and ECU reset), Throttle Position Sensor.

By "vacuum leak", dut means that the intake manifold is under a certain amount of vacuum when the engine is running. This vacuum is measured and used by the ECU to run the engine. If some of the vacuum hoses around the manifold is leaking or if the throttle body is not sealed properly to the manifold, you will have a "vacuum leak" and this leak must be found and fixed.

ps. It is pointless to sit and warm up the car till 3 bars before you drive it. It is even more detrimental for you to sit there warming up the engine by revving it. This may have something to do with your current problem.

 

the car drives fine, but whenever i put it on neutral its like im tapping on the gas but im not, i can pass the 2k rpm all the way to 9k rpm ,

Please clarify one more thing:
Are you saying that you put it in neutral while you are rolling down the street? If this is the case, then what you are seeing has been reported. It's not common but it does happen. By giving the ECU a reading on the speed sensor of a positive road speed and being in neutral, a bit of "confusion" can arise and "some" ECUs can't seem to cope with this odd combination.
I got the impression that it was NOT going below 2000 rpm when you are sitting still.

 

Im sure he means when he is in neutral, the car is revving itself up and down. Ive seen it a lot in the Acura's when winter begins. I also think it is the idle air sensor.
