Wiring harness for head unit on MY 2004 - 2005
Sorry if this is a repost, I tried doing a search and surprise surprise, the search didn't work
I know the head unit on the S2000 has changed twice now on the S2000, but I'm curious if anyone knows if the wiring harness that you'd need to install an aftermarket head unit is the same? I've seen a few places selling wiring harnesses that will work for an S2000, but most of them only list the year model as 00-02 or 00-03. I'm not sure if the MY04 - 05 S2000 wiring harness is different or not.
Looking to swap in a Alpine 9835 head unit (if the guy selling it ever sends me back a PM) but I'm not sure if the harness he has will work for my car. Also, does anyone know on the back of the head unit, I saw pictures of people plugging RCA connectors into the back of the unit. Is that a line out on the OEM head unit? I bought my car used and it came wired with an amp and speakers and the amp is connected by RCAs but I haven't gotten a chance to pull the head unit to see how it connects on that end. If it goes RCA all the way then it will be nice and easy to swap the head units since I can just unplug the RCAs from the OEM unit and plug them into the aftermarket one ... Otherwise I'll probably have to find where it converts from the speaker outs to RCAs and replace it there.
Thanks to anyone who can help out!

I just installed an older alpine head unit over the weekend and used the harness from an 00-03. Picked it up at Walmart for six bucks
as for the RCAs - the previous owner must have installed a line level converter (which allows rcas to be connected to the factory head unit) - all you need to do is remover the converter and connect the rcas to your new alpine

I just realized the reason I saw RCAs in a picture of the back of the head unit is because its the new head unit that someone was replacing with. I just didn't realize it was the new one and not the OEM one ...

Glad to hear that the new OEM head unit uses the same wiring harness though. I'm surprised Crutchfield or the other big car audio sites haven't updated their websites.
