158,000 Yen for the top, and 6 hours of labor.

Thanks to 1RandyC for the URL.

Anything automotive is doable, it just depends on the money and effort. Both will be considerable in this area. Thanks for posting the link tho'.

Just FYI: the rates quoted online are normally inter-bank rates, applicable only to multi-million dollar transactions. I highly suggest that you call your bank and ask about current consumer transaction's rates. The reason why I said this is because a customer publicly accused me of ripping him off on another board when I quoted $1USD to 115.2 YEN and he saw on Yahoo! Finance that the exchange rate was $1USD to 119.8 YEN. Please bear in mind that we don't tell the banks what we think the exchange rates are

with that in mind, who would actually just trade in their '01 for an '02 rather than do the actual conversion.

because i'm sure once you get the kit shipped from japan to north america, the costs are very close?

oooh, nice. but on the second thought, if it's gonna cost around $1500 in japan, it will cost more here cuz the labor is expensive as hell. In my opinion, i think it's much better to spend a little more and just trade it in for '02 and get all other improvements. don't u think?

I understand.. the reason I use those rates are 1) they are easy to get, 2) I do my stuff with credit cards and the banks settle cards pretty close to those numbers, and 3) it can vary either direction. I'm sure it is different for small business but there is no better way to do an estimate.

say $60 per hour, takes 6 hours, $360.

$1500+360 = $1860

roughly $2K to get the top. worth it? up to you.

Isn't $1,860 a powder coated Spoon header and gas money to boot?

C'mon Rich, you can make me a better deal on that header can't you? I've been drooling for months!
