Default Shifting to neutral

Hi guys,

I have done a search and could not find similar problem.

My car is an ap1 with about 55k miles on it.

The issue is when I shift from 3rd gear or 2nd gear to neutral while slowing down, the shifter seems like it is still in gear while the clutch is pressed. It takes a second or 2 before I can actually take the shifter out from 3rd to neutral.

Is this a common problem for our cars?

Is this the clutch delay that everyone is experiencing?

Thanks for any input.

I have had this problem on random occasions. My car is MY02 with 55k miles. I have also had rare occasions where the clutch pedal is on the floor and the gears grind when shifting like I never depressed the pedal. I have to go back to neutral and then pump the pedal.

Thanks guys for the input. I have already changed the clutch fluid recently.

Also, I have noticed that if I blip the throttle prior to shifting back to neutral with the clutch pressed, I would not experience this issue.

My thought was that something is still spinning when the issue occurs and I needed to wait a second or 2 before it stops spinning so that the shifter can come back out of gear into neutral without any problems.

If the fluid is nearly new and the system was bled properly I'm guessing pressure plate.

I am not sure if the clutch was bled or just a fluid change. I am guessing it was just a fluid change.
