It sounds like a rusted spline where it goes through the disc. Very common with older cars.

This is the answer

Car mostly sat for 10 mos. Afterwards, difficulty going from neutral to 1st at a stop and sometimes difficulty pulling from gear while driving and clutched in. Finally confirmation the clutch wasn’t engaging was up on a lift, pushing into 1st clutched in, and the wheels spun. I’ve since replaced everything so I can’t say this is the exact cause. Symptoms match and the clutch disc movement wasn’t super slippery. I’ll report back as soon as it gets on the pavement.
