Default My Stranded S2000

So I didn't pay attention to the weather reports...

My S2000 left its garage around 5pm this evening. I have been driving it a lot this winter because there hasn't been any snow. It wasn't wet out so I decided to take her to my buddy's house. I looked outside around 12am and I saw that it was snowing quite heavily, maybe 2 - 3 inches on the ground. I didn't think much of it. I finally decided it was time for the S2000 to venture back to her garage spot at 2am. It was still snowing hard and there was maybe 4 inches on the ground. I thought it would be a fun drive home - I've never driven it in snow before. None of the roads were plowed... I couldn't keep the car straight on the way home. The road I take to get home apparently has a slight hill that I've never noticed before. I made it a whole half mile before I got stuck. I called my friend's house and had them come get me. I was stuck sideways on a side street - the S2000 was rendered helpless. They had to help me twice just getting back to my friends house. I had no idea how bad the S2000 is in the snow! (with S02s of course) Now she's sitting on my friend's driveway, cold and in the snow

I don't think Subaru plans to rush out and have S-02 tires installed on their Outbacks for that same reason. That's why Bridgestone Blizzaks are required equipment for snow days. Clearly the S2000 original tires won't do.

Just an update: it was snowing hard all day again today so my car is still stuck at my buddy's house. However, I did manage to snag a garage spot over there... I was worried about her last night.

gotta get the blizzacs, the only way that car should see snow. but with no traction control and no weight on the back axel you are SCREWED in the snow.

need info on how to have car towed???

GasBuddy - Sorry, I was referring to Grand Rapids, MI. I live here for half of the year. On a separate note, would you be interested in a little S2000 get together sometime this summer? A number of MN people have showed some interest.

Kengel - I agree about the blizzacs. I never intended to drive it in snow...just got caught in it this time. For now the car is going to stay in my buddy's garage. I'll either drive it home today (if these roads ever get plowed) or I'll wait until Wednesday when the 40+ degree weather returns!

Nside - I might be interested in that. I'll stay tuned for more!

Two bags of sand, one on each side of the trunk (ie, over the rear tires) helps immensely! (another one in the middle might not hurt, but might effect steering)
