Default Opt for Blizzak WS50's

Had to work this morning headed out in light snow. Less than an inch. My S2000 is equipped with LM22's. Got a mile from home turned around and got my beater 1992 Mazda MPV, a rear driver equipped with Blizzak WS 50's. My S2000 was all over the road. My 23 mile backroad commute was a piece of cake in the van. Can't say it would have been as easy if I'd stuck with my Honda.

Wow, very interesting.

I had LM22 once and drove through 3-4 inches of snow just fine, matter of fact, I went to an empty parking lot to test the limit and characteristic of the tires, I had to push the car really hard to break 'em loose, and even that, it's so predictable and easy to catch. I remember I even out run many SUVs and such on snowy and icy road. I hate the noise and breaking capability of it, though.

Not to saying that you are wrong, but may be where you live, road surface is different or something. What about tire pressure?

I drove with the LM22's in snow a few times last year and it really handled decently. For some reason on this particular morning the roads were extremely slick and the LM22's wouldn't hold at all. The WS50's were fabulous as usual. I know they are quite a handling compromise on an S2000 but if you have no other driving options in snow, I think the WS50's are the way to go.

I have both tires on two different AWD Audis.

I really can't tell a different yet, but I would imagine the WS50s would be better since they are more of a dedicated snow tire.

I have LM25's on my Acura CLS and they work great, but that's a fwd... The S2K has Dunlop M2's and so far has been ok in the light stuff.

I occasionally drove my S2000 the first winter I bought it...I had it equipped with the WS50's and they were amazing.....If I were to drive a car that just wasnt meant for the snow (like the S) I would opt for the ws50's...if it were something else like say an Acura TL I would opt for something a little more "all around" as the LMs ....just like Tel1sps was talking about
