Yes, and in my experience, it does not do much at all. The customers car we installed it in questioned if it was even really there. If your looking for a slim sub, have a box made and look into JL, Pioneer, or Kenwood.

How about this one, just came across it when looking into the JVC unit:

Blaupunkt THb 200A

Any chance it would fit?

gabster-

I too have been looking for an underseat sub thinner than the pioneer. So far this is the only thing I have found

http://www.earthquakesound.com/sws.htm

Only another 1/8. Don't know about SQ either.

I dug around a little and found these specs for the Blaupunkt on CNET:

Full Specifications - Blaupunkt TH-Series THb 200A
Product Type Car Subwoofer
Width 13.4 in
Depth 8.9 in
Height 2.8 in

... so is there a chanceit would fit??? Great reviews of it on Crutchfield.com.

Your suggestion looks interesting, but I went to the Blauplunkt website and they list the height as 71mm (79mm Max). I took this to mean the main body is 71mm but the cover over the speaker extends to 79mm. Doing the conversions 71mm=2.79 in, but 79mm=3.11in.

Not sure if there is room under the seat to accept the higher part over the speaker.

Just trying to be helpful, as I am searching for an underseat solution also

Im not sure about the whole fascination with under seat subs, but anyone ever thought about raising the passenger seat a bit to squeeze a better sub under it?
