Default Advice needed on 17x7 all around

Hey guys,

Might get a good deal on some kosei ts 17x7 50offset rims for the S. I know the S comes with a staggered setup but Ive been looking for an inexpensive way to pick up some light wheels and this might be the best opportunity. These rims weigh 13.7 pounds which is pretty light.

My question is that Ive read some members running the same size all around due to a similar situation getting a good price on rims. What they do is run a tire staggerd setup.

For exp, 205 in the front and 225 in the rear. On a 17x7 wheel, would this be recommended or even fit. I know 235 might be to large for a 17x7.

Also, would I have any issues with the center bore. Should I pick up some wheel spacers.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i would highly recommend against it but i have run those sizes before. you are actually worsening the handling of the vehicle by putting a narraower tire in the front than stock. spacers will only help make it more flush but there is nothing better than getting the correct offsets. If i were in your situation, i would save up the money and get the corrrect size wheels. good luck

Thanks for the post,

Im currently have the stock ap1 on my car. So I believe its 16x6.5 and the rear is 16x7.5. So wouldn't it be the same me purchasing 17x7.

I thought there would be some isues with the rear, but no the front.

I did this. I will never do this again. The rear on the AP2 is a 17x8.5 with a 245 on it for a reason. If you go with a 225 on the rear, you are going to slip and slide all over... I know I did.

You are much better off staying stock.

I almost caused some serious damage on Sunday thanks to crappy 225's in the rear (and less-than-smart driving, I'll admit). As soon as I get my new slipstreams, I want to put my 245 ES100's sitting back home on the rears.

Everyone is correct. While you could run 205/50R17 and 225/45R17 on the rear the handling would not be as good. It will work though if you are not an aggressive driver. If I can help with the tires let me know.
