Is there an online petition for our S2000 regarding the on going problem of the infamous Convertible Top tear.

Anyone want to help me right the petition for petitiononline.com regarding our converitble top defect? I see that it would show a bigger problem if those who are owners in the AP2(05-08) comment on this as well.

To start off with pointing out the defect:

Owner -
Year of car -
Mileage when top tore -
Date when tear discovered -
Honda dealership involved -
Outcome of replacement request - Give a detailed write up

 

where is it tearing?

 

it usually tears in one of 2 places, up near the latches, or up above one of the support pars where the bar bends.

Mine is almost through. I am afraid to put the top down anymore

 

^ you can repair the tear yourself... it's very easy.

 

they gave me a new top for my tear in the rear

 

This may be a good idea - top replacement seems very unstandard with Honda and dealers, and its an obvious problem. There are enough people with this issue it may be worthwhile to organize on it.

 

this petition would fall on def ears anyways. not trying to be pesimistic but thats just what i think will happen.

 

all of my tears have started from the top wearing on the inside, where the frame rubs most against the fabric.

 

So have all of ours but i honestly dont see teh company maning up to this issue.
