Yep, you heard me. I was parked at a mall. Somebody backed into the rear of my car. Damage was very noticeable but minimal. And the driver of the offending vehicle took off.
Oh, did I mention that I positively ID'ed the truck AND its driver as she drove away?
Oh, did I also mention that a passerby witnessed the whole thing and took down the plate # AND positively ID'ed the truck and driver?
Oh, and did I mention that the police officer I reported it to is an acquaintance and former colleague of mine who took it as a personal task to get this person for leaving the scene of an accident? He will personally go to this person's home and confront her.
The damage was mostly to the rear tow hook cap (nearly punched a hole right through it). The cap only costs about $13.00 but I do seem to remember getting it gold plated
Then there is the 2" scrape in the paint just above this cap. I might be able to buff it out but I might just let the most expensive paint shop in town take care of it and I think I'll be real fussy about a perfect match. I'll let them do it again and again till it looks just right. And I also seem to remember this is a very rare Silverstone paint with 24 carat gold in it.
I'm gonna extract more than a pound of flesh out of this one. I just love it when a plan comes together!

So for all you guys with nice cars who have ever had "anonymous" damage done to your cars -- THIS BUD'S FOR YOU!
Here's a pic. Talk about a bull's eye! In any other place, it would've been some major repair. (My wife calls it "The Nipple".)

I once got hit on the freeway. And the lady took off like nothing happened. I contacted the police and had them take a report. They never contacted me after that though.

Wasn't that big of a deal, but it sucks that this person knowingly hit me, on the freeway, in traffic...and still took off after I started to pull over.

I say nail this person to the wall

the title suggested something sifty - perhaps a story of a man who could not keep his weekend s&m activities under control.

Now I see it's even worse.

But you are right. you should whip her bad!

Sorry to hear about the hack from behind Dave. However, you go get that lady, nothing bugs me more than people who flee from a scene. My mom's Accord got backed into and scraped a good chunk of paint off about a week after she got it back from another rear ender where the bumper was freshly painted.

Honestly, wow how lucky is that. The person backs into your car, and hits it right dead smack in the center of the tow hook cap. Its only like you said a $13.00 fix. The A$$hole that backed into my car hit my whole bumper and that cost $600.!!! Some people have all the luck!

I am soooooo glad you can bust the person who did that to you!
Have her slapped around a little for all my cars that got wacked by these f... a......., like my wifes civic. The hood was pushed in right over the bumber and the other day when I drove it, the lock came loose and the hood flew up. It hit my windshield at 60 mph and cracked the shit out of it. I am just glad that I was driving it and not my wife. I probably would be a widower by now. Still have no clue who backed into my wifes civic, but if I ever find out...
Anyway, I am very happy for you, but still pissed about that b..... ruin a perfect car.

Damn, she's going to be really busted. Hit and run is not something to be taken lightly. Get her back for all of us that suffered hit and runs in the past.
