Default My amp/sub review

I purchased ...

Amp kit

RCAs - I only got 1 pair, not 2

AMP (180watts rms)

Subwoofer 8"

The amp easily fits in the tool-well styro-foam tray. I currently have the sub in a $2.88 8" sub box purchased from a discount store. I have a darkside sub V1 enclosure I am going to install within a week, which I can only assume will make it sound better.

As of now, this amp/sub/rca combo works AWESOME. It wont blow your ear drums, but it sounds perfect. Easily the best SQ sub I have ever owned. Since the amp is so small, and fits in the tool tray... and dark side sub box takes up barely any room, i have a ton of trunk space and a deadly sounding stereo. I will take pictures as soon as the V1 enclosure is installed.

UPDATE

Here are the pics of my install thus far...

My head unit... Sony xplod CDX-GT710... i have to put the bezel on still

IPOD connection... allows me to control the ipod from the deck...very cool feature

My amp install...

This is where my speaker wires go from the amp in the tool well... I have a darkside V1 enclosure (pic below) that will be installed soon, I just have to find sometime.

Here is my current sub box that was under 3 bucks... sounds dam good with it at least

The last owner installed the deck, sony xplod door speakers, and the ipod hook up. I dont like this deck, as the buttons are very tiny that are used for album up/down when using mp3s.

I will put up pics of the V1 enclosure when done... but it will look like all the others on his website

OK...so, this setup sounds awesome compared to...?

Are you:

Comparing to Sony Xplod or Pioneer 8's?

Comparing to IDQ 10/12 or IDMax 10/12?

Comparing to JL W6/W3?

Comparing to SI Mag v4 or Adire Brahma?

etc.

I'm glad that you are happy with your results. Buuuut..sSimply saying that it works great should really be an acknowledgment that you were able to successfully install everything. This statement does not, on it's own, give any meaningful information to the users of this forum

I have owned
JL audio 1- 12" W3
2-8" boston rally series
2-8" mtx black golds
2-10" jl w1
1-12"pioneer bullet

All used on an orion xtr amp.

This 8" sub is the best sounding subwoofer out of all the subs listed. The SQ is by far the best. Does that help you Neutered Sputniks???

I am simply showing my system to people and letting them know that it turned out great for a dam good price...while keeping trunk space.

I'm seriously considering ID8s myself - thanks for the endorsement.
