Default need advice on upgrade - amp for fronts and sub, sub and box

Ok, I've upgrade the HU and door speakers (Infinity Kappa 62.5i). I also have a set of components in SPods for fill.

I'm still looking for a little more, so here's my plan: WLaurent's box + 8 inch sub, with an amp for the fronts and the sub.

So here are my questions:
1) What sub should I buy? I have thought about the e8a, but that is probably overkill for me (plus as far as I can see no one has a good grill solution for it yet). Recommendations?
2) What amp? I'd like to go with just one amp, and I think I need at least 75W x 2 for the fronts and maybe 200W for the sub (maybe as much as 125W x 2 plus 300W for the sub)? Is there a good 4 channel amp that will let me bridge two of the channels for three channel operation? Is this what the specs mean by "tri-mode operation"?

I listen to classic rock, alternative, and some dance/house/techno. I'm not looking to rattle fillings out of my teeth, just to get more volume out of my fronts and add some low-end.

Thanks!

Matt

I went with the JL 500/5. It's 100x2, 25x2, and 250x1. I see two problems with it for your setup though. The fill channels are on 25 Watts RMS. According to the JL guy I talked to, it's a conservative rating but I would still be skeptical about running components with it. I haven't installed SPods yet, but I plan to use a less power hungry set of coaxs. The other potential problem is mounting. Unless you want to get rid of your spare, you'll probably have a hard time finding a place to mount the amp. It can be done, but you'll have to be real creative. The dimensions on the amp are 19.7"L x 9.25"W x 2.36"H.

I can't really comment on the sub as I went with the JL Audio Stealthbox.

You can see my install here.

You can go with the 5 channel JL, or the alpine, or the Soundstream, whatever you decide, there all pretty much the same. For the sub, something nice and clean, a polk or rockford sub at 200wrms will do you just fine.

So, would the SoundStream EGA5700 be a good choice? I'm a little confused about operating it in 3 channel mode, becuase they say "RMS @ 4-ohm Mono : 440x2, 300x1". Why do they say "Mono"? Seems a strange way to describe bridging channels, unless they really do mean "mono", and if so who would want that?

Also, although I see the same specs all over the place (even on the SoundStream site), can they really mean 440x2 or should this be about half that?
