I just installed a Directed d1200 amp and a 10" kicker comp vr sub (in the kicker small enclosure box) Should I ditch that sub abd maybe get the JL Audio 10w6, and if I do that, would I need to get a different enclosure?

Dont get me wrong It hits pretty good, but Im not happy about the sub. I only purchased this sub as a recommendation from the installer because I wanted to keep trunk space.

Also they installed the box with the sub facing down, shouldnt it be facing up

update, i ditched the kicker sun and got the 10w6 in a better enclosre much nicer

Wow, 2 hours and some change. Impressive.
Keep in mind that the CompVR is a lower end Kicker model and the 10w6 is a near top end JL model, over a $300 difference in retail price. Plus, the compVR likes bigger boxes, 0.8 to 3.0 cubic feet sealed.

 

yeah, i have about 5 audio places within 10 minutes of me

 

Don tlet Dave see this post.....he will let you know what he thinks about Kicker....

JL 10w6 is a MUCH nicer sub, but the enclosure has as much to do with sound as the sub itself.
