Default Radio takes a long time to turn on

Hey,

I have an 05 bone stock car, and sometimes the radio takes 5-10 minutes to turn on. I turn the car on, and the radio just doesn't turn on until 5-10 minutes go by, it's the weirdest thing. I was thinking it might be a fuse, but if a fuse is blown wouldn't it just not work at all? Has anyone else had this problem? Is it some feature of the anti-theft thing? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mat

there is a relay which cuts power to the headunit and accessory power
socket when you start the car. sounds like that relay is sticking - check
whether the accessory socket has power when the headunit isn't working.
The relay itself appears to be under the dash behind the headunit to the
left. I would imagine it's easy & cheap to replace.

When you guys had the problem with the radios, did the anti-theft light blink every so often? That's what happens to mine each time I turn off the car and the radio doesn't turn on. One time, it took 30mins for the radio to finally play music...

Ok, while driving, I moved my driver's side mirror and the radio turned off and the anti-theft light was blinking like it does when the car is off. Is this the relays behind the radio?

Agreed, its the relay, same thing happened to mine when I first got it. Seems to be a my05 thing. The relay is under the dash above where your right leg is. Theres 2 of them that look the same. I think its the one closer to the firewall. I had a detailed post about this a while back, but cant seem to find it.
