Default radio help

My son recently gave me a JVC KD LHX 551 cd radio and fitted it for me, initially the dash controls did not work as expected and we purchased the conversion cable from Halfords, all worked ok until he pushed the dash mute button whilst testing before reinstalling into dash, and the radio went dead, he then informed me that there was nowhere to plug the mute lead that came with the conversion kit and it was dangling about. We checked the radio fuse and its ok, so asked him to put the stock radio back while we sort out the problem, this now dosn't work although the red light that says anti theft is winking away merrily, Can anyone give me clue where to look for a nother inline fuse or similiar.

You need to re-enter your security code to the radio. Found in you user manual pack (at least that is where mine is).
Check the FAQ that has a section on power take offs, that are fused/non fused.

Try the acccessories 10 amp fuse in the left hand bank of the fuse block which also houses the radio fuse. The radio fuse powers only the memory of said unit . the acccessories fuse powers the radio and the power socket as I understand it .
