Looks good. What does it involve to do this?

Kirk,

This involves removing the front bumper, removing the brackets below the headlights, then removing the headlight assembly (several hidden bolts holding them in). The seal between the headlight lens and housing is then heated with a heat gun and slowly preyed apart (this step is very time consuming). Once the headlight assembly is seperated, the internal amber lens is removed.

Then you just repeat the process in reverse to put everything back together. We also put a layer of silicon sealent around the seam of the headlight assembly just to be on the safe side.

It took about 7hrs. to complete.

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I would feel confident enough to do that without breaking something but it does look really good. Congrats on a great job!

Sfen,

These are the factory headlights that have been taken apart to remove the inner amber lens.

I have to say that these lights look better than the factory clears because of the "crystal" like nature of them.

Those S2k's are super sweet, BTW.

Is there a full gallery to check out?

S2kRob,

I agree with you. I like the inside of the housing much better than a clear plastic lense. The polished lips of the rims and the "crystal" inner housing on the lights look great.

I don't have that many pics yet, but will take many, many this weekend.
You can look at whatever I have at:
http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumList?u=1393058

S2K is old pics
S2K-2 is the new ones (all at night, so they are not so clear)

Scott is a folder with a couple of shots of S2K-F8's car.
