Angry Hydrolock

Call me dumb, but screw Florida rain and F^CK Cold Air Intakes, didnt know the puddle would be so deathly deep.
Waited a little while after the car died and i pushed it as far out as i could, tried to start it, made a little rumble than a nice POP and than the starter made no more crank. Any suggestions?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

pull the plugs and let it dry out , there might be a chance that it's not ruined. I think it was Billman250 that posted on how to revive a water locked engine.

water won't compress if the cylinders are filled, pulling the plugs might allow you to turn the engine and push out the water.

I would dump the oil, pull the plugs and coils and see if you can get it to turn over by hand with a wrench on the crank pulley. If it turns after that then let it dry out, run new oil and a filter in it, reinstall plugs and coils when dry and see if it starts. PM Billman250 for some advice as he has saved some hydrolocked engines.

Wait!! Don't dump the oil and then try to turn it over! There's no oil in it.

Pull the plugs, crank the engine, and you'll get a geyser of water shooting out of the plugs. Let it dry. Do a search for hydrolocked engings.

Yeah I meant changing the oil when I suggested dumping. Oil and water won't lubricate very well if you crank the engine with the old oil. I would change the oil and filter once before cranking, if the engine seems salvagable and can fire up then change the oil and filter again before putting it back on the road.

pull the spark plugs out, then crank it many times. this will shoot the water out of the cylinders.

If you would have done this first before trying to start it, you'd be driving it right now. sounds like you already broke the engine with the starter.

NEVER TRY TO START A HYDROLOCKED ENGINE. Pull the plugs first. This could have been a simple save.

PM me ur cell I'll walk u through. Maybe you'll get lucky.

^^^ word

All that water the sucked in through your intake ended up in your cylinders. Your only chance of salvaging your motor is to pull the plugs and crank it over to shoot all that water out.

Good luck man.
