Default If it was a choice. Coupe or Convertible? (Pics)

I was prompted by this thread. . .

--> https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=89971 <--

I was interested in what folks would have opted for had a choice been available.

And I know all about the hard top already. But clearly, I want to know if TWO models of S2000 would have been available, Coupe or Convertible, which would YOU have purchased.

I would have opted for the Coupe over the convertible had it been an option for the following reasons:
  • Overall cost (coupes generally cost less than convertibles)

  • Security (rag tops are not secure after a cut with a box knife)

  • The "clean" look (no black top or bumps)

So, give me some thoughts on this.

Possible S2000 (S2200) Coupe

Coupe or Convertible, had the choice been available?

The fact that it was a convertible was a HUGE selling point for me. I only just bought my S and if I weren't looking for a convertible, it may not have even been in contention (was also considering the 350Z and G35 coupe).

Also, don't think I care much for the Possible S2000 (S2200) Coupe pic.

My objective was to replace the 14 year old roadster I was already driving. A coupe wasn't even a consideration.

2002 Suzuka Blue - bought off the showroom floor two hours after they put it there.

It depends how cheap the coupe will be, will it offer a sunroof at least, and how much faster the coupe will be compared to the convertible. If it's not that much cheaper, doesn't offer a sunroof, and not much faster, convertible all the way!

I LOVE the S2000 the way it is now. When I want to drop the top, I can drop the top and enjoy the weather. If I want to put a hardtop on, I can, and it transforms the car. Like others said, it's like having 2 cars in 1.
