No Bill if I was serious about buying the car I would have researched the hell out of it. I expected to see a mark-up but not 10K!

Don't even get me started on car salespeople!
And of course I would contact Matt if I was serious about getting the car.
LOL. Actually, I was talking to Bryan since he actually did get ripped.

its funny because sales guys are sick of getting jacked around for hours by pimple face 17 year olds wanting to test drive sports cars when they cant even finance a candy bar.

in our managers meetings they warn everytime if you prequal and get caught you get sent home.

I hardly prequalified when i was on the line.

funny story. My old finance manager told me he was on the line at BMW and TRAVIS BARKER with his big mohawk came in. All the sales dissapeared. The floor manager was going to whoop the salesmans asses. So my finanace manager flipped a coin with his partner, loser will get "jacked" my finance manager lost, he tried to blow out Mr. Barker. Travis says "i know you think youre wasting your time but can you show me this car." So the sales guy shows him the options and tries to blow him out by saying its $180,000. Travis takes off his backpack and pulls out cash. the sales guy was like CHA CHING and was like who the hell are you? and travis said hes from a band, and the sales guy says Limp bizkit?? then the camera men from "Meet the barkers" comes in and start filming. The salesman made $6000 from the deal. LOL

I get prequalified all the time when I go to Tiffanys to get something for my girlfriend. They dont even look at me cuz im in t shirt jeans and a backwards hat. When they finally do help me and try to scare me away with the price i just pay cash and smile...who cares.
I went to Ferragamo last time to buy a pair of shoes, the ones I was trying on were $600 and the sales lady made sure that i knew the price before she brought them out...she was pre qualifying me and i didnt care, then i bought them along with a matching $200 belt..so what? you cant take it so offensively.
After i bought i gave them my old business card "mike kim fleet manager" and tell them you could work on etc etc when selling.

I'm mid 40's Mike, I pulled up in my freshly washed S and I walked right by this group of snakes, er, salesmen. I tried to acknowledge THEIR presence but they just kept gabbing. Not even a "good afternoon" from any of them.
I checked out the Si for a few minutes, opened the door, felt the seats, etc.
I've always felt that (most) Honda salepeople are of the opinion, "our cars sell so why bother."
In the end it's no big deal it was just a surveillance trip anyway. I would never consider doing business with a dealer that suggested asking 10k over sticker for a Honda Civic! And I do realize that this car is hot right now.

LOL then theyre a bunch of jacks, $1500 paint protection is "DynaKote" paint sealant type stuff...9grand over sticker is unacceptable hahaha
you have to understand every dealership will do it though, its not the sales guys option to put it on or not, believe it or not sales guys dont disagree with that type of markup either because they cant keep a straight face when theyre trying to sell "air" for 9grand. to be honest they probably didnt approach you looking at the SI because they already knew you're upset about the 9k market adjustment and you were already turned off.

i had a repeat customer a few months back that came back for a civic hybrid...i tried to get him past the $5000 markup on all the hybrids. I SWEAR to you no matter any customer that came even $500 short of that markup was not dealt with. and thast the name of the game. we're still sold out for the next couple months for pre sold hybrids.
in the end i spoke to my GSM which is the only reason i am where i am, and he got it to the guy for $2000 over sticker and my customer highly appreciated it.
i paid $500 over sticker myself for my own hybrid first month they landed.

i will not get involved with politics from my job anymore.
