Default 2007 honda s2000 accessories

I am very close to purchasing a 2007 S2000. I was wondering what the added security system option and security hood switch kit option in their accessory list entails. The dealership told me that it wasn't much different than the regular option, but it cost 500 dollars so it has to do something. I was also looking into getting the ipod connector, but they said it was in recall. Any information anyone can give would be greatly appreciated.

For the money, get a cheaper and better after-market security system

And buy an aftermarket head unit with ipod adapter. The OEM unit's not that wonderful

Most importantly, congratulations!

Welcome aboard!!

I would have to agree with chuhsi on the alarm. Go aftermarket and get a better system.

Personally, I feel that OEM alarm isn't of much use. The system could be defeated in literally seconds -- because the alarm system is highly standardized and has no backup battery source.

Just get an alarm (don't need to get anything fancy), and get a good shop to hide everything properly for you. Good luck!

I agree hat you should get an aftermarket security system. The OEM from what I hear is a waste of money for what you get. Save yourself some money and give yourself the extra peace of mind and get a nicer aftermarket system. Also welcome and congrats on the s2000.

I got the Honda I-Pod thing. Whatever you do do not buy it -it sucks.
Search the electronic section these boys (and girls) will steer you in a better direction.

Have to agree with all my peeps here. Skip the options and go aftermarket with this stuff.

I don't even know if it's worth having an alarm, but that's a separate conversation. The ECU's immobilzer makes it difficult for folks to steal the car unless they can winch it onto a flatbed. And, getting into the car is a knife-slash away, just like any convt.

Best wishes!
