What is the big beef with the NFR? I think the same dealer has one also and that is appealing to me since it has the all black interior which I am looking for.

The NFR's just weren't selling as well. Back when I was looking, only three local dealers still had silverstone/black, with one each. All the dealers here had at least one NFR still sitting on their lots.

And I'd be concerned with the 103 miles. Test drives mean lots of short distance, cold engine, high rev abuse by people who may not even know how to drive stick properly. Consider this, the route my dealer took me on is approx. 3-4 miles. That's a lot of test drives. If you're fine with that, negotiate like a madman as those test drives devalue the car to the dealer.

It's really dependent upon yourself. Only talk otd pricing with the dealers. I'm not sure what your taxes and dmv are, but you can just tack those on to these numbers. Also, I live in a relatively higher priced region, so you may be able to do better, like those 27-28k otd guys. If I were looking at an 07 in white, silver, or black right now, I'd probably gun for 27+taxes and registration if the vehicle had less than 15 miles on it. At 100 miles, I'd probably shoot for 26 flat +tax and reg.

Just be ready to walk away. My dealer actually called me to say they couldn't do 30.8. I told them I had another dealer willing to do it and they told me good luck with the purchase. They waited 30 minutes and then called to say they'd do 30.7 if I went down.

You can get a Sky Redline, which if you're main goal is a torquey fast feeling highway power rolling car wihich IMO is a stunning looking vehicle with more flash, the S2K at a higher price doesn't have the appeal. Along side of one of of a Yellow Sky in my S2K, I didn't feel like I had just as new of a car. The deisgn is so modern and new, much like the S2K used to be.
Interesting viewpoint. I recently drove a Sky Redline while at the Atlanta auto show. GM had a setup with many of their cars available for test drives. The Sky was a MAJOR disappointment. Yes the motor is decent(much more immediate, punchy power) but the transmission sucked big-time. It took all the fun out of driving the car. Very boatlike driving position too. I did not like the car at all. This is before considering how awkward the top design is and the lack of a real trunk. Looks alone do not make a car. When I left the show and got into my S2K, I was amazed how much better the "ancient" Honda was when compared to the brand new Sky design. If you are going for "bling" by all means go for the Sky. I think you will be sorely disapponted if you swap from a S2K to a Sky/Solstice though...

Ok I called the dealer to check the current mileage. It has 103 miles on it which would concern me. Also he now informed me that is the black/red interior which I am not 100% sold on. Should I blow this car off since it has 103 miles already?

Thanks,

John
If they are selling the car as new, the warranty will start when you drive off the lot.
36K/3yrs and 60K/5yr powertrain. Whats to worry about if the car is running fine when you test drive it? I would say go for it.

Car drove great. It is now at home in my garage! $26500 was the magic number. I am real happy with the car and the deal!! Also another good note that made me happy. When we went on the test drive I realized there test loop is 10 miles long. That and the fact that the car has been on the lot for a year. So all in all the 103 was not bad. Could have been 10 or so test drives.

Thank you to all of you for your help!

Congrats, nice deal and a great car. Even though the design is 8 years old, I'd still take one over a Sky. Enjoy.
