Is the 2007 S2000 REALLY worth 29 grand?
Man, there's alot of cars out there that I could get for this price.....for almost 30 grand...it doesn't have alot of bells and whistles. I do have a 4runner as my DD....this would just be a toy...but it's hard to justify buying a 30G toy....
Trust me... this is a toy you WILL NOT regret buying.
For it's price... you get a car that can easily compete with you 50k to 80k porsche's. Not straight line, but in the twisties... you best believe it.
There's nothing in it's price range that comes close as far as roadsters go. I mean you can get an EVO, but probably not as fun.

It's a driver's car, plain and simple. If you want bells and whistles, you definitely should look elsewhere.
No luxuries in this baby... but that's what makes it so much fun. I'm not into luxury... so this roadster, raw feeling is great to me...

Actually, the Sky Redline and Pontiac Solstice GXP are now available and are the only cars that can directly compete with the S on price and performance. The down side is they are useless for carrying stuff because they have no trunk, and the top is a pita to operate.
The S2000 gives you a great performance car on par with cars costing $20k more, but also serves up daily livability - many people have S2000s as their only cars. Even today, I'd buy an S2000 over a Boxster, Z4, Miata, Sky, Solstice, 350Z conv., Mustang, Elise, SLK - you name it.
Honestly, if you want it as a toy, but a 2002 S for $14-19k and save some money.

Seriously... I don't know what it is... this car is just a blast to drive. Everytime you get into it, all you want to do are dirty, DIRTY things with the car as if you were fantasizing about it in your dreams the night before and now made them come true.

That's too bad, the Sky is nice. I still wouldn't buy one tough - its not a practical roadster like the S2000 is. You can get two golf bags and two people in an S, you can load luggage and Christmas presents in one, its just a great roadster - only the Boxster has more room for hauling stuff.

I came from a Lexus SC and I thought I might go thru luxury withdraw. But boy was I wrong. This is a driver's car. Even if you are a passenger riding shot gun you won't get what this car is all about. If you love to drive and row your own gears and appreciate handling/balance over horsepower/muscle then you will love this car
Otherwise, stay far away and let another owner enjoy this toy
