Default 6th Gear lockout

Hello all, I've owned my pre-owned S2k for 6 months. Suddenly 6th gear is locked out. All other gears are working fine. No grinding. I'm not a gear head so I'm looking for anyone who might refer me to someone in Reno, NV. OR should I just go with the local dealer's shop? Thoughts, suggestions, maybe even prayers.

I had 6th gear lockout on my first '02 S2K. It's been 5 years already, but I think I reacll it needing a new gear and new synchros. Covered under warranty, so I have no idea of the cost.

^^^^ New gear and/or synchro.
The debate has raged on for years, but woodwork, a Honda employee who visits here, has warned about the dangers of skip shifting. Both woodwork and xviper (now departed from s2ki) were both well respect members here. The below should answer your questions.

is it totally gone? or just hard to get into?

my 6th (when i bought it already) was hard to get into it. if you rev match it PERFECTLY it will engage. It may be placebo effect, or i might be getting better at rev matching, but it seems to be getting in easier
