Default About to Purchase My First S2000

Hey everybody, I have been lurking on s2ki quite sometime, and I feel I am ready to purchase my first s2000. I have found a 2003 Sebring Silver Metallic with 28,652 miles on the odometer. Judging by the pictures I saw online, it looks to be in excellent condition. The only problem is the price is quite high. They want $21,500 for it, but on ClearBook it's around $14,000s. Do you think the price is negotiable? Will I be able to get it around $15,000? If so I may check it out today, and be ready to purchase tomorrow.

I would hope so... the mileage is great, but that's really steep for the model year. A 2002 in phenomenal condition with 23,000 miles local to me just went for $16,000, so hopefully you can talk them down a bit. Good luck with it, and welcome (officially)!

Hopefully they will come down, because that is pretty high! And welcome!

Seems way overpriced to me. The mileage is great, but not so much that I'd jump on that one. The spring/summer estimates this year for 04-07 have shown to be about $20,500 (in California). They got a little high at the start of last month but that is because the market was flooded and dealers kept going up and up. I passed on a Silverstone 2006 with 40k miles for $18,500. Top was repaired but looked great, otherwise car was a strong 2 (best 1-5 worst). Similar to your deal, a local dealer has a 2001 red with about 18,000 miles or so. The dealer was all about it being a collector item, blah blah blah, but in reality, they wanted $23k for an AP1 and that is ridiculous. I doubt people are collecting AP1s at this point in the AP1 release. If someone is going to grab an S2000 to collect, they will probably get a MY2000 or a CR. I see 3 or 4 S2000's for sale on average of $20k with mileage from 40k-80k. That's what you should shoot for at this time of the year, the median...
