just checked out a used deal at the dealer

heres some info on the car:

MY02 , 33k miles, 1 owner clean title, stock

everything looks clean (inside out) , tires are new but its some generic brand "Continental" which i never heard of.
top is in ok condition.
car is smooth, i rode on the clutch a bit to see if the differentials are blown but no ticking sound.
they said they serviced and detail the car but no documentation to back it up such as compression ratio, and leak down test figures.

checked edmunds for clean conditions , retail price is 19,499. which is 21,4300 Out The Door.

originally quoted 23,000 OTD 10 am

down to 22,000 OTD by 12 pm

they gave me a quote now for 21,680 OTD 1 pm

and then now its 21,500 OTD 4 pm


so what do you all think about the car?
i really want to get it , so trying to get some opinions.



what a twist,
i was driving myself to the dealer to sign paper works for $21,500 and i got a call saying the new sales manager said they wont go any lower than 23,000 OTD......................

the sales person is cool and very helpful in getting me the lowest price but his manager.......JESUS help him.

 

You might try looking for one private party. It will end up saving you quite a bit of money if you are lucky. It may take a little extra time, but most of the time it is worth it. Just make sure to take any private party prospects to a trusted mechanic to have it looked over.
