Am I a muppet or a man?

Default Am I a muppet or a man?

I am hoping that some of you men (not muppets) out there can tell me whether I'd be stupid to buy a 2009 S2000 with 15k miles and in near perfect condition but with no service history. All HPI clear etc.. and just serviced by a Honda main dealer, although no service history book (if someone knows where I could get a blank one, I'd be grateful but assume difficult). I am just wondering if lack of service history would be a problem when I come to sell (to non-muppets, presumably). All advice gratefully received - and quickly, I am due to pick up the car in 24 hours! Thanks!

Check the secret compartment. Many dealers are unaware that this compartment exists. The previous owner could have stashed them all in there.

Also behind the seats if you haven't checked already. That's where I found my owner's manual after I had owned the car for quite some time. An 09 with 15k miles though would have had to have been BADLY abused for there to be anything really wrong with it. These cars hold up very well.

Thanks - but where is the secret compartment (or is that a secret?). Do you mean the compartment between the seats next to your shoulder?

If it's HPI cleared, has no accident history or cut n shuts .. (Give it a good once over and don't be shy to get it up on the ramp..) Best thing to do is run a check with a Honda dealer to trace where it was originally bought and serviced.. If it's got full honda service history (it can't have much history as it's only done 15k miles!!) and it being 2009 they should be able to get the records up with the mileage..

Check all the engraved VIN numbers on the engine and chassis I'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere stating the locations..

Good luck dude! Let us know how you get on!

Thanks - VIN number checks out OK with DVLA as matching the reg mark. But you're right, I'll get it up on the ramp tomorrow. Keep you posted.
