Sorry to hi-jack the thread a little bit, but I thought the newer seats only had a change in the headrest?
The seats have a weight sensor in them, allowing the use of a staged airbag rather than the original one-size-fits-all airbag deployment.

The seats are made from more durable leather starting in 06 I think.

Great info. Last night I went on YouTube to check out Videos of people driving S2K in the snow. Some were ok, others looked bad. I think the best thing to do is to go to a dealer and drive one in the snow.
I would agree about the Pro's and Cons for engines... but I think the 07 may be the way to go.

No, thats a bad idea. First off, the cars at the dealer are most likely going to have OEM summer tires. These tires are horrendous in the snow. You MUST use snow tires, then the S is a very capable winter car.

Yeah, I figured that about the OEM tires. And for sure, I would have to get Winter Tires, and that would help a TON! However, it would still give me a better idea than none at all. Who knows, it may be better than my FWD 6 with OEM tires right now! LOL!

No, it won't give you any ideas on how it handles in snow; because it won't even move.

Two weeks ago, I had a customer who bought an S2000 from me. Two days before he bought the car, we got 4 to 5 inches of snow and sleet. Combined with below freezing temps, they all turned into ice. We spent 1.5 hours digging out the S2000, then had FOUR guys pushing the car from the back lot to the front lot (which was clear of snow).

This was a brand new car with brand new RE050s. S2000 with OEM tires DOES NOT work in snow/ice.

BTW, don't even bother asking for a test drive in an S in snow. Any salesperson with any number of brain cells active would say no.

I drove my S in about 3 inches of snow, I was fine. On OEM RE050s too. Now, ice is a different story. No, it won't even move.
