Default To buy or not?

Hi, I am looking into getting a s2000 seeing how spring is almost here and all. I found a 2001 white with red/black interior for sale I will probably go check it out this weekend. The car has 82000 km's. The car looks pretty clean, I would like a 2002 for the glass window and stereo but the price is a bit higher. Right now I have a 2006 si with some mods which I plan on keeping for everyday. Should I buy the 2001? Is there some things I should look for when I go check the car out? Thanks! Oh yah , the guy wants 20 000 (Can) neg for it, I will offer him 18500 and we will see from there...

It took me 6 months to find a gpw with red seats and black dash. Mine only has 23,000km's on it and interior is MINT, i got front bumper repainted as we scrathed it good getting it onto the trailer. Mine also had oem sides, front li and spoiler which was super important for me. That owner wanted 28,000 cdn. (i got a tad cheaper)

So if you really want a gpw with that interior, giver as they are very hard to find.

Just drive it and see how it feels, have a listen to the motor and know the valvetrain is very noisy on them. Make sure all wondows work well, roof works well,

as you said i would have preffered a 02 for glass window and they usually run a tad more lean but these are easy fixes if you care to add a vafc.

Stereo, same junk, upgrade your deck and door speakers and your fine. Well except roof down cruising lol

now enjoy if you get it and watch it till spring lol

find at s2 at a auction....

not normally and if so, there are issues with it as most s2's priced right will sell very quick and if they sit there, its cause they are priced too high or there is something wrong with them.

ya 00-01 ran a bit more rich but that is also a good thing as if you track it a lot or beat on it alot at higher rpm's, you know its safer then running lean and they dont run pig rich, just more on the rich side

good luck man, tough colour combo to find.

I would tell the guy that you can get a good condition 04 AP2 for the prices that he's selling in USA. CAN dollar = US dollar now.

01 has the plastic windows which are a PITA to clean. Especially since you live in a cold country, it sucks to have.

Ok so I went to check it out and turns out the car was a vga from the states. It was repaired poorly + the interior was dirty so I will keep on searching...

Take your time and find the right one.

I spent several months to find my MY05 (purchased new Dec 22 2005) for $31k, with 28km on the clock. One owner cherry sweet local car.

In my quest I found several "suspect" cars brought up from the States, including more than one from "reputable dealers" that were actually salvage titles from the US when you do a Carfax.

Relax, enjoy the hunt and find the right one. It's out there waiting for you to find it.

The thing is im on somewhat of a budget seeing as I am a student and work part time. So it will have to be a 2001 or 2002. I wish I could go to the States and pick one up but the procedure is very long and complicated...
