If I were you I'd still pull the trigger on it for 5k. Like one guy above said, even with a blown motor, this price is a steal. I'd tell her it's no problem and you'll take it anyway. Where are you located? If you are close I'll take it for sure lol.

Well, if I really had the extra cash to do that, I would. I was hoping, and still do hope, that everything will get fixed up and I can still get it. If it's involves buidling or replacing the motor, I don't want it. We are near Atlanta/Marietta, and once she calls me back with the mechanic's final diagnosis, I will post back. She's being very cool about the whole thing, and wants it to be working right for any future owner. I told her if I dont't buy it, that we could easily find a buyer for it as-is (hopefully from this forum). The mechanic sounds good so far, he's going to go back over the basics. I mentioned leakdown test, and he doesn't feel like that's needed yet. So just going to wait on his word and go from there. Will definitely post back with updates, I want this car!!

your story sounds fishy... you had a gsxr... and a 350hp evox, why are you stressing about buying the s2k for 5k? pic of gf next to the s2k.. or so called evo with your sn attached to it..

I hear ya man, I just have to wait until that "probably a minor issue" turns into a "definite" minor issue. She's actually being very cool now, so I feel like I can ask her anything and even take it to get a leakdown if I want. The more I think on it, I'm leaning towards backing off. I've never had two cars at once, and am not so sure it's the best idea, but it would be a dream with the Evo and S I think. I just don't think I could afford it when things start going wrong! If any of you guys are dead serious about buying the car, let me know. She really wants to sell it.

The only part of my story that could sound "fishy", is how the hell would I get this car for $5k?! That's even fishy to me. Sounds like you may not have read the thread. I'm stressing because I don't have much extra money, beyond the $5k price of the car, to deal with major issues. I've already mentioned I am broke, and I don't think you realize I still have the Evo. But here's the last pic of when I had them both.

I'm not worried about proving I have an Evo, a girlfriend, or whatever. I could prove all types of things that are irrelevant to to the topic at hand, I was just trying to introduce myself. The point is, there's an AP2 S2000 for sale for $5k, and somebody's gonna get it. Still hope it's me!!

Just pick it up, it's well worth over 5K and I bet it's something minor in the engine.

I am interested in the car, I'm only worried about if it's drivable all the way back here to STL. Keep us updated if you find out anything new.
