Default Buying my first s2000

Hi all,

I have been toying with buying an S2000 for a while now and have decided that now is the time.

I currently own an 06 Leon TDI Sport which I use to commute 50 miles to work 3 times a week. The car is worth about 8,500 pounds and I have been looking at s2000s around this same price.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what to look out for on 2000-2003 model?

typical problems?

Am I nuts commuting in a sports car? does anyone else do it?

Thanks.

For typical problems, do a search in the 'S2000 Talk' section...it would take me way too long to list all of them. But most of them are just recalls...my first S2000 was a 2002 and I had no mechanical problems whatsoever. Consider it a sports car with Honda reliability because, well...that's what it is. No, you're not nuts for commuting in a sports car, I did it and I'm almost 6'3...you get used to the lack of space. I wouldn't recommend driving this car in the snow/ice...but besides that it's perfectly fine for year-round travel. Also, even though Honda might not have built this car to be used in this manor, it can be and some members have over 200,000 miles on theirs. Remember, it's a Honda

Thanks for the replies.

So ok which of these look like the best bet,

a 2000 model with 59k miles :

or an 03 model with 68k miles:

My problem is that I know nothing about mechanics.
