Check your oil!
Hi folks,
Friendly neighborhood moderator here...
Lots of new owners on the board recently. Great deals out there on used Ss...
I wanted to post a reminder to folks that the S2000 tends to burn oil. This is less true on AP2 models (MY04+), but still worth keeping an eye on.
You should check your dipstick every week or so -- perhaps ever fill-up. I find myself adding a little oil every couple of weeks. Don't kill your car by starving it of its life blood (oil). Keep checking and doing little fills, as needed.
By the way, there's nothing wrong with your car if it burns what might seem like a surprising amount of oil. It's just the way they built 'em folks. So, don't worry. Just keep it full.

dittos. every time i hit my vtec i think 'oooh..better fill up the oil..' and every fill up its maybe 1x down. never let it get below middle, never get let it get higher then 1x down from top... i used to run @ max on my old car before..and the oil flying out throught the pcv valve was insane so never again
just my .02

I've seen some S2000s seriously burn oil in track turns when the oil sloshes through the valve. That's not what happens normally, but it's quite a sight when you see it on the track or autox!
BTW, you're probably safe even if you're down below the fill line; don't panic. Just get it done. And, don't track the car if you're low; that'd be a serious no-no.
Anyone hitting the track, please make sure your oil filter is tightened wrench-tight. At Fall Colors a few years ago, we had two folks have their filters spin off and kill their engines. Not good.
