I'd go with the 03. It's my favorite year for these cars, and that one looks pretty clean. The S2000 badge on the AP2 is in the wrong place. It would make me suspect that the fender was replaced at some point.

Yes, I checked with him and the badges are in the wrong place because a friend of him polished the car and as per the owners request, the badges were taken off. After the polishing, the badges were placed back on in the wrong place. Both fenders have the VIN label untouched and in placed. I do have a picture of that and I double checked when I went to see it and the "story" does confirm itself. The car has burnt polishing compound around the trunk seal and engine compartment, inside the fenders. Car look straight, solid rear panels, usual S2k weird fitment under the tail laight where the quarters meet the bumper, same for both sides. Rear bumper cover supposedly was replaced at some point because it was rear ended slightly, but has no metal damage under it and he was really honest notifying me about a little bump on the same bumper, where it has a little area under the right tail light that has a spider web paint crack.

Both quarters have the rubber fender lip so not rolled nor pulled either

Also, want to ask you guys. The 04 has an M Factory 4.57 gear and with the install came all new everything on the differential. New seals and stuff. Is it good enough for a daily? I mean, I dont care for the whinning but my main concern is that I do regular freeway drives, 2 or 3 times monthly, 65-70mph for as long as 2 hours each way, everytime and I know the revs go up with the higher gear. That would put a lot of stress on the engine and drivetrain. Is it good enough to daily a car like that? Is M Factory reliable enough for that situation?

Update:

Want to say thank you to those of you that helped. Got my car last week. Went with the 03 SSM and it feels great. Couple things that need to be addressed though.

First, Im having a rev hang for some reason. Revs work where they should but as soon as Im comming to a stop and I press the clutch, it stays at around 2k and then drop after a second. Cant figure that out. Also, since it has an HKS cat back, the previous owner who got the exhaust, installed a test pipe so the secondary O2 sensor is throwing me a CEL. And, remember those bearings that were bad? Well, it isnt the bearings. Im having vibrations from my diff. Changed the oil and it was clean, as in no metal shavings or anything, but it is buzzing when in gear. Probably will try to get another AP1 diff and change it as a whole.

Any input would be greatly apreciated.
