EVO IX --> Ranger --> S2000
1st off this website is awesome! I have learned soo much in the past 3-4 days just going through page after page of personal experiences and justified opinions on what this car is all about.
When I was 19 I bought a brand new EVO IX, it was fun but the maintenance was INSANE. So from there I traded it in for an FX4 so I could go hunting, off roading and camping....that happened maybe 3 times. So rather than go buy a motorcycle for my soul mode of transportation I picked up a 2007 S2K with 47K miles on it in Grand Prix white, my payments went up $30 and my insurance went up $8 a month, how could I pass up that deal!
The car does not pop out of the lower 3 gears (2, 4 & 6) under hard deceleration and the dash board is as smooth as I imagine it was when it rolled out of the dealership in Tucson AZ. The car handles REALLY well but I can see myself adding some suspension mods, a shop close to me offers a set up for $500, it comes with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and sway bars. I also decided to go with the Invidia Q300 exhaust so im looking forward to that showing up. I dont plan on going insane with modifications, my goal is to just keep it clean.
I am kinda bummed that the car uses a drive by wire on the throttle body, I only found one aftermarket TB and its like $900 also i havent seen an ITB that will allow a drive by wire adapter to be used on it. The handle on my knife has scratched the bottom of the steering wheel the 1st time I got in in but other than those 2 things (which are very uneventful) I have no real complaints about the car.
Im from AZ and used to go to the Scottsdale pavillions religiously, anyone else on here go there on Saturdays? It would be kinda nice to cruise/talk with some fellow S2K owners.
