Good for you! I have a modified O3 Evo that I bought five years ago and recently bought an '00 S2000. Really nice contrast between the cars. Both are a treat to drive in very different ways.

I had an Evo IX MR, and probably end of next year or 2010 I'll buy another s2000. (that would be my 3rd ) I liked my evo, but the it leaked water into the passenger side and 3 dealerships couldn't fix it after a year so I gave up. After the altima is payed off (yes I drive an altima now) I'll pickup an s2000 for the summer/weekend. Every time I drove the evo, I kept wishing it was my s2000 sigh.

Probably, they did manage to fix 3 other chasis/flange leaks while they were at it which slowed it down.

Window was leaking
Gromet for the gauge cluster leaked
Door leaked

Know one knows where the last one was. Instead of filling up with 3 inches of water after a hard rain, it took a couple of months or just made the carpet damp. New car too, it had 2 miles on the odo when I bought it.

I've had two S2000's in the past. 2001 new formula red and 2004 suzuka blue. I never buy the same car twice so that's gotta tell you something. Currently, I drive a Evo X. When I consider performance (overall handling and power) I've gotta go with the Evo. I wouldn't even think about going back to the S2000. Honda's been resting on their asses for way too long not updating this car. Even the "equal" 350z made some dramatic upgrades for who it was supposed to compete with.

I ride also so driving the S2000 was not fun at all. Gawd it felt like the slowest car ever. I just needed something with more ummph and precise handling. To tell you honestly I don't miss the S2000 at all. Than again my girlfriend owns a 03' S2K...but even then I hardly (if ever) drive her car. That faze in my life when i was crazy about that car is no longer there.

With what you've mentioned sounds like a headache with the problems you're having on your Evo. For the most part these cars are pretty reliable. But that would give me enough incentive to trade up to a S2000. Just remember you'll take a huge step down in power. In a lot of ways, the Evo is tons more easier to drive hard than the S2000. Just make sure your rear tire is fresh anytime you drive hard. Rear end with a bad tire=unforgiving. lol.

With all that said I don't miss the S at all.
