Fair lease rates for an '06?

I don't understand leasing...why not go with a car you can afford to buy?
There are a few reasons why I won't buy another car for a long time.
1) I'd like something new every 3 years without the hassle of trying to sell a car
2) I can write it off
3) I'd prefer to invest my capital instead of having it sunk in a down payment on a car
Just got back from the stealership.
They gave me a ballpark figure of 2-3000 down, mid 300's per month.
They would have given me some more concrete numbers, but I'm not ready to sign the papers for at least a week or two.
Thanks again for all the input.

Just as another data point, for some reason lease deals here in the NE are terrible right now. Residuals on a 36 month lease are right around 50%, making lease payments with no money down except for inceptions about $510. Looks like I'll be waiting a while to replace my '03 coming off lease.

I did the same deal, 3600 down, 325 a month, 19.8 residual, probably will buy and sell at the end of the lease, or allow my brother to buy it from Honda for the 19.8. I only drive the car on the weekends so the lease makes perfect sense for me, I have like 11k miles on it and am 18 months into the lease.
