Wanted your opinions on high mileage S2000's. It is a 2000 S2000. The carfax is clean and shows 171506 on the odometer. Any specific things I should check for if I take it for a test drive? Thanks

 

Welcome! A good place to start would be the What to look for when buying a used S2000 thread. It's lengthy, but very thorough IMO. Another place you might find helpful is the Upper Mid-West subforum (umw.s2ki.com). That amount of miles is about average considering the car's age. It really all depends on how it was driven and cared for over the years.

Thanks for the help. It is listed at $7700 which is suspiciously well below blue book value for a dealer. He said it was a trade in. Too good to be true perhaps?

 

Im buying my S2k with 145k. would make sure the motor is cold and listen for any noises on inital start. Rod knock and such... which is improbable but you never know. That link poseted by JulieU is going to be helpful to me when I pick mine up tomorrow.
